I spend a lot of time waiting stuck in the space between "it's too much time to just sit here" and "It's not enough time to do something else".
So I wait.
But I've learned to be prepared for my waiting periods. I've learned to keep a discrete art stash tucked neatly away in my Mary Poppins-esque handbag.
This week as I reached in I found, as always, a trusty old journal and a fountain pen with black ink.
And I occupied my waiting moments observing my unconscious as it spilled out before me on paper.
Looking back on a week's worth of waiting I'm pretty glad I got stuck between here and there.
The purpose of art is to stop time.
